The Sales Manager role leads and directs all aspects of the new and pre-owned vehicle sales department, driving revenue growth and profitability while delivering an outstanding luxury guest experience. This role will build, develop, and inspire a high-performing sales team while maintaining alignment with Mercedes-Benz brand standards and the goals of Mercedes-Benz of Northern Arizona

Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Strategy
  • Oversee all new and pre-owned vehicle sales operations with accountability for results, sales targets, and profitability.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow volume, market share, and profitability.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and inventory performance to optimize sales strategies.
Inventory Management
  • In partnership with the General Manager, oversee the selection and pricing of new and pre-owned vehicles.
  • Ensure stock levels meet demand and profitability goals.
Team Development & Performance
  • Recruit, train, and retain a top-tier sales team with a focus on performance, development, and Mercedes-Benz brand values.
  • Build a coaching culture that supports ongoing improvement, accountability, and excellence.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions.
Customer Experience
  • Champion an exceptional, luxury-level guest experience from first contact through delivery and follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with Mercedes-Benz USA customer service standards, CSI/NPS goals, and dealership policies.
  • Monitor sales department KPIs, profitability, inventory levels, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with marketing to drive campaigns and showroom traffic.
  • Work closely with Fixed Operations, F&I, and administrative teams to maximize overall dealership performance.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of automotive leadership experience within the luxury automotive segment (Mercedes-Benz experience highly desirable).
  • Strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets, driving profitability, and building high-performing teams.
  • Excellent financial acumen, analytical skills, and familiarity with CRM/DMS systems (CDK experience strongly preferred).
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to luxury guest experiences.
