The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS is seeking applicants for the position of County Director 2, Child Welfare Services. This position is located in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia.

• Oversees Child Welfare Services and administrative operations of a Class 2 County DFCS office.
• Manages the administration of policies and programs designed to protect and protect children and families.
• Ensures mandated services with priority of child safety and service provision to children and families.
• Directs subordinate supervisors and staff.
• Assures agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Builds and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within unit(s) and with other agencies and providers.
• Creates and maintains positive working relationships within the community and on the county DFCS Board.
• Develop and administers budgets.
• Facilitates communication within the unit(s)/agency on a specific case level as well as on the procedure/policy level.
• Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges social services employees.
• Leads and administers a comprehensive system of public assistance, employability, and social services.
• Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for groups of social services employees.
• Plans, administers, and maintains the operation of social services programs.
• Reviews new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with state, local and federal regulations.

• Must have reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, a valid state-issued driver’s license and an acceptable driving history record.

• Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of supervisory experience in a human service delivery program.
• Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND one (1) year of experience at the lower level Cnty Dir 1, Child Welfare Svcs (SSM
  070) or position equivalent.
