Position: Program Coordinator - Training and Recruiting CASA - Juvenile Court (0226)

Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty coordinating public programs; performs related work as assigned.

Note: This is a limited appointment, up for renewal on 9/30/2026

Note: This position is grant funded through VOCA.

  • Recruits new program volunteers through county-wide, community outreach to include tabling events, public speaking events, advertising, social media.
  • Ongoing development and implementation of a Recruitment Action Plan.
  • Maintain and monitor social media platforms.
  • Create flyers and newsletters using Canva, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe DC Pro, and other programs.
  • Maintain and monitor volunteer applications and processes.
  • Provide CASA Academy training per National CASA guidelines to new volunteers.
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports. Other administrative duties as needed.
  • Collaborate with State CASA office to create press releases and marketing tools following National CASA Branding Standards.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with community-based organizations, public agencies, coalitions, schools, and other appropriate facilities to implement training.
  • Present or coordinate training for advocates on topics such as trauma, child abuse, and neglect, court procedures, or other topics related to child welfare issues.
  • Provides support to program volunteers.
  • Prepares and disseminates informational program materials.
  • Must be willing to travel within the State of Arizona as needed
  • Research advertising opportunities and costs and may collaborate in budget development.
  • Coordinate recruitment and facilitate events.
  • Assist with grant writing to develop new funding sources.
  • May supervise program volunteers and interns.
  • May provide coverage for court hearings.
Essential Functions

Driving; working with and around others including staff, program partners and agencies; working alone; dealing with interruptions; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation.

Qualifications

Associate degree in public/business administration, or a related field within subject area, and two years of administrative experience; OR

Three years of administrative experience; OR

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in marketing, social work or counseling, experience in Juvenile Court, child welfare or related experience; experience training a diverse population of volunteers; experience in promoting a program and recruiting volunteers, experience utilizing social media platforms for outreach and recruitment.

Additional Requirements

Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment.

Community Services Requirement: if this position is in Community Services, then a fingerprint clearance card is required.

This position is non-exempt from overtime.

This position is safety sensitive.

    • Prepare and maintain complex reports and records
    • Manage contracts
    • Work safely and support a culture of workplace safety
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, community groups and other agencies and the public
    • Follow written and verbal instructions
    • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
