- Flagstaff, AZWe are seeking an experienced Screening Maintenance Technician to join our Flagstaff laboratory team. This role is responsible for maintaining the performance, quality, and reliability of Automated Chemistry Analyzers and Merit screening instrumentation. The position includes performing routine maintenance, coordinating preventative maintenance with contracted vendors, troubleshooting instrument issues, and ensuring consistent assay performance.
Schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts | Saturday – Tuesday | On-call for instrument issues as needed - schedule discussed during an interview
Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour Shift Differential:
Additional $2.00/hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AMDuties and Responsibilities Perform weekly washes and photo calibrations
Sonicate and inspect syringes and mix bars monthly
Maintain cleanliness and proper function of ACAs and Merit instrumentation
Perform routine Merit instrument maintenance and cleaning
Ensure overall cleanliness and organization of the screening area and cells
Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining assay performance
Load specimens using automated chemistry instrumentation
Assist with instrument calibration, quality control (QC) review, and initial analytical review
Documenting all preparations to fulfill compliance requirements
Performs routine operations including start of the day equipment initiation including verification of calibrations, controls, reagents and reagent levels
Prepare and restock reagents and buffers as needed
Reviews test results for release. Documents discrepancies, exceptions and unusual trends. Researches and rectifies errors
Assist with maintaining adequate inventory of laboratory supplies
Maintain accurate records associated with specimen preparation, including proper chain of custody handling and storage requirements
Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and decontamination procedures
Maintain strict safeguards related to Protected Health Information (PHI)
Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly to changing needs
Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical documents, data, and charts
Knowledge of forensic documentation handling and chain of custody procedures
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment including pipettes, liquid measuring devices, analytical balances, and pH meters
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science or related field REQUIRED Benefits
