Book Department - Kids Specialist

Contributes to the regular and efficient circulation of children’s books in the store through effective purchasing, pricing, and stocking of merchandise. Responsible for leading and promoting a customer-friendly store atmosphere by providing exceptional customer assistance. All job duties are performed with a customer-service mindset while working within company policy and procedures.

• Provide exceptional customer service at all times
• Sort and organize incoming merchandise
• Stock books to shelves
• Maintain knowledge of current stock on hand
• Maintain a neat and organized sales floor area as well as back of house area
• Evaluate books (and other merchandise) for purchase at incoming counter
• Explain and negotiate (as necessary) deals with customers
• Maintain knowledge of current market trends
• Children’s book knowledge, both classic and contemporary in nature
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

This position is Full-time (minimum of 32 hours per week) and Must have Open Availability on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and be able to work 5 shifts per week.
