Position Overview
Smith+Nebw design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. This particular position is no longer open for hiring, but the résumé is maintained for future consideration as opportunities arise.
What will you be doing?You will serve as a technical consultant in the Extremities Orthopedics product portfolio, specializing in internal and external fixation solutions. Your role includes making sales calls, providing on‑call clinical case coverage in the operating room, and training surgeons on Smith+Nebw products through educational programs across your territory. You will collaborate with podiatric and orthopedic surgeons, hospitals, OR staff, Sterile Processing Departments, administrators, clinicians, and researchers, and work cross‑divisionally to increase product awareness and adoption.
The territory also requires management of a 24/7 call rotation.
Success relies on technical expertise in Extremities Orthopedics, strong relationship building with surgeons, key opinion leaders, and hospital administrators, and the ability to develop and execute an effective territory business plan that meets or exceeds revenue and quota targets. You should be self‑motivated, results‑driven, resourceful, and collaborative, partnering with peers across company functions to uncover new sales opportunities.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum four years of sales experience in the medical device industry, specifically selling orthopedic products, or experience as an EMS/Paramedic
- Preferred experience in the healthcare industry selling orthopedic products or as an EMT/Paramedic
- Proven track record of selling and converting growers at the surgeon or hospital level
- Experience leading or mentoring team members and new sales representatives
Within the designated sales territory with 2–4 overnight stays per month. Infrequent national travel for events and conferences.
