Adult Probation Program Coordinator - Adult Probation

Under general supervision performs work of moderate to considerable difficulty in assigning and placing probationers with completing court ordered community service; develops and implements department programming, community restitution programs, placements, and projects; performs related work as assigned.

The Mission of the Coconino County Adult Probation Department is to create a safer community by reducing the number of future crimes, thereby reducing the number of future victims. This is to be accomplished by providing to our clients individualized programming and supervision to include:
1. Cognitive-Behavioral education, treatment and supervision based upon individual assessment of risk and need.
2. Restorative justice to the community and victims.
3. Community and client involvement and collaboration.
4. Effective, quality-based methods of supervision.
5. Measurable processes and outcomes.

To maximize Court appearance, public safety, and effective release practices.

Note: This position will be required to work a flexible schedule that includes night, weekend and holiday hours.

• Coordinates and administers designated court program(s) (to include, but not limited to Community Restitution Program and MRT Programming, Internship Program)
• Develops and conducts Restitution and/or training programs (to include but not limited to Young Adult Skills Development, Life Skills and Job Development Programming, and Arts Programming)

• Coordinates and collaborates with community-based organizations, public agencies, coalitions, schools and other appropriate facilities to build and implement programs

• Builds and sustains positive relationships to represent Adult Probation in the community for purposes of collaborating and supporting initiatives involving Probation and related issues
• Prepares and disseminates informational program materials
• May participate in the recruitment of volunteers, practicum students and interns
• May supervise and train student employees, interns and/or volunteers
• Prepares and maintains records and reports

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential functions include: driving; sitting; working with and around others, working alone; working with interruptions, repetitive motion (hand/wrist) computer work; vision acuity (near/far) computer work; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation.

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field; and one year of experience in employment placement, a social services program or a related field OR
• Associate degree in in human services or related field and two years of experience in employment placement, a social services program or a related field; OR
• Three years of experience in employment placement, a social services program or a related field; OR
• Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position

• Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
• Must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must successfully pass an extensive background investigation, fingerprinting, criminal history check, urinalysis screening, and driving records check through the Motor Vehicles Division.
• Must complete a minimum of 16 hours of on-going education within the judicial system certified by the Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) annually.

This position is safety sensitive.
