Locations and teamsWorking in the North West means there's a lot of ground to cover. You could have the opportunity to work in the heart of the Lake District, or you could sample a taste of city life. As well as our main office in Warrington we also recruit for a variety of roles based across the North West; we have 575 wastewater treatment works and 96 water treatment works in areas from Crewe in Cheshire to Carlisle in Cumbria.

Role detailsAs a Level 3 Fleet Technician Apprentice
, you'll learn how to:
- service and repair mechanical faults on our vehicles as well as fault diagnosis using the latest computer software packages
- follow our rigorous health and safety standards, keeping yourself and others safe
- work as part of a dedicated team focused on ensuring that our vehicles and plants are maintained efficiently
- service and repair a wide range of vehicles and be able to identify any faults
- carry out routine maintenance, making sure our vehicles are always running in tip top condition
Your apprenticeship will last 42 months, and successful apprentices will achieve a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician standard, endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships.
Your study will be on day release. If you do not live nearby, accommodation will be reimbursed/provided by United Utilities during this period, excluding weekends.
What we're looking forWe're looking for someone keen to gain hands-on experience, develop practical skills, and achieve the standards needed to succeed in this role.
You’ll need to have:
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent, grades A-C or grades 9-4, which must include Maths, English and a Science or Technology subject.
- A full UK driving licence will be needed as soon as possible when in role. We'll contribute up to £500 towards driving lessons and tests to help to get you on the road!
