Tyrefix UK is the UK’s leading off-highway tyre repair and replacement service, keeping over 140 fleet vehicles moving nationwide with an unrivalled mobile breakdown service.
We’re looking for a skilled Lead Fleet Mechanic to join our team s hands‑on role combines workshop-based and mobile work, mainly supporting our LCV fleet, with HGV support as required. HGV maintenance and repair experience is highly desirable, although not essential. You’ll report to and work alongside the Workshop Manager, collaborating with qualified mechanics, workshop assistants, the Fleet Manager and Fleet Administrator.

- Lead diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on diesel LCVs, with HGV support as required
- Carry out and manage 6-monthly inspections, MOTs and safety checks to meet roadworthiness and compliance standards
- Oversee new van kit-outs, including racking, electrics, branding and tool installations
- Plan servicing and repairs with the operations team to minimise downtime; support mobile breakdowns and vehicle swaps nationwide
- Supervise and support mechanics and help develop workshop assistants; maintain service records in line with DVSA and manufacturer guidelines
- Manage parts, consumables and tools, and maintain a safe, organised and fully equipped workshop
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- At least 5 years’ commercial van experience and 2 years in a senior or lead mechanic role
- HGV maintenance and repair experience is highly desirable, although not essential
- Full UK driving licence essential; HGV licence and/or MOT Class 7 tester certification are a plus
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills across electrics, engines, brakes and suspension
- Willingness to work in the workshop and on a mobile basis, travelling nationwide to support our fleet
- Experience in van fit-outs is highly desirable; familiarity with fleet maintenance or tracking software is preferred
- Clear communication skills & collaborating approach
