Controller Position

We are looking for a Controller to support a light manufacturing organization in Flemington, New Jersey. This long-term contract position will take ownership of the full accounting cycle in a standalone capacity, producing accurate financial statements and establishing a reliable month-end close process. This role is mostly onsite (4 days a week). This position is contract with potential to be converted to a permanent position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete general accounting function independently, ensuring financial records are accurate, current, and well organized.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements with clear supporting documentation and analysis.
• Build, execute, and refine a consistent month-end close process to improve timeliness and reporting accuracy.
• Oversee account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and other closing activities across the full book of business.
• Develop Excel-based schedules, analyses, and reporting tools to support decision-making and financial oversight.
• Identify gaps in existing accounting workflows and implement practical improvements to strengthen controls and consistency.
