Hospice RN Per Diem Position Summary
Provides continuity of hospice care to Hunterdon Hospice patients and families through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience to maintain and maximize the comfort of both patient and family. Ensures quality and continuity of care in the absence of the primary nurse.
Primary Position ResponsibilitiesMinimum Education
Required: All hires after July 2012 are required to have a Bachelor's Degree in nursing OR if Associates Degree or Diploma, RN must provide proof of enrollment in a BSN program prior to hire, be continuously enrolled and complete within 5 years of hire date or internal RN promotion date.
In lieu of BSN: Associates Degree AND 2 years of experience in the specialty area will be accepted.
Preferred: None.
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation)Required: Two years experience in medical/surgical, oncology, hospice, palliative or community health nursing.
Preferred: None.
License, Registry or CertificationRequired: New Jersey License as Professional Registered Nurse.
Preferred: Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing (CHPN).
Knowledge, Skills and/or AbilitiesRequired: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational skills, strong assessment skills.
Preferred: General computer experience, IV certification / experience, knowledge of palliative and hospice care, knowledge of hospice conditions of participation and federal regulation.
