Nursing Intern

Provides quality nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Works within the guidelines of established practice for the Patient Care Assistant ports the mission, philosophy and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center. Primary Position Responsibilities

• Assistant with total patient care under the direction of the RN
• Promotes patient safety
• Promotes and supports an organized work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Work Contact Group (Internal/External) Nurses, doctors, interdepartmental staff, families and patients. Reporting Relationships Reports to (position):
Nurse Director

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be currently enrolled in nursing school and have completed the first clinical semester course (Nursing Fundamentals).

Required:

Current CPR certification is required. Crisis Prevention (CPI) training is required, and must be renewed annually. If not certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 6 months. CPI Course will be provided at Hunterdon.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

Required:

Normal basic patient care equipment, wheelchairs and stretchers. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
