Position Summary
The Security & Logistics Coordinator plays a dual role in safeguarding our facility and ensuring the smooth, organized flow of inbound truck traffic. Stationed in an outdoor guard shack at the facility entrance, this position is responsible for controlling site access, verifying incoming shipments, and coordinating with drivers and internal teams to maintain safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Monitor and control access to the facility, verify driver credentials, load documentation, and visitor identification.
- Maintain a secure perimeter through visual checks and surveillance monitoring.
- Serve as the first point of contact for inbound truck drivers—providing clear instructions on docking, unloading, and safety procedures.
- Log all inbound loads into the tracking system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
- Communicate with warehouse, dispatch, and operations teams to coordinate load priorities and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, or procedural violations, following established protocols.
- Maintain detailed incident and activity reports for both security and logistics functions.
- Keep the guard shack organized, stocked with necessary forms, and equipped for daily operations.

- Strong oral and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; ability to quickly build rapport with both teammates.
- Proven track record of taking initiative to accomplish tasks in creative ways with a sense of urgency and assertiveness.
- Basic mathematical skills to count, add, or subtract items and make sure that the right quantity of products is selected.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in security or logistics preferred.
- Prior experience in security, truck gate operations, or logistics coordination strongly preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with logistics tracking systems (TMS/WMS experience a plus).
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and truck yard safety procedures is an asset.
- Must have the ability to talk and hear; must be able to hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform position.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods in a guard shack environment.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. (e.g., moving barricades, handling packages).
