Laborer 1 – Bridge Division

Full Time – Salary $45,051.21 per year – 40 hour work week

Excellent full‑time opportunity to learn and perform the skills necessary to maintain and repair roads and bridges. Candidates will be expected to learn to operate equipment, including vehicles that require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). The County will assist you in learning, practicing, and preparing to pass the CDL examination, a credential essential to the positions within the Department.

• Perform varied manual and unskilled labor work, including but not limited to clearing underbrush, mowing, trimming, and removing trees.
• Engage in road patching, delivering, shoveling, and preparing surface materials.
• Participate in annual snow removal work.
• Operate and maintain bridge and road maintenance equipment as required.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.

• Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
• Successful completion of the New Jersey Civil Service Commission 90‑day working test period.
• Ability to perform manual and unskilled labor duties.
