High-visibility seat reporting directly to the CEO. Owning all day-to-day accounting and finance functions while facilitating the forward-looking analysis and follow-through that drive effective decisions.
Lead Resposibilities:- Own hands-on, day-to-day accounting — journal entries, reconciliations, cash management, and full month-, quarter-, and year-end close
- Deliver the monthly financial package and sales reporting to leadership and ownership
- Drive FP&A: margin analysis by customer, budget vs. actual, and cost analysis that shapes real decisions
- Build and own the annual budget and report performance against plan
- Mine and analyze data from the MRP/ERP system (AS/400) and turn it into working insight in Excel
- Lead a small team across accounting, HR, and purchasing
- Partner with outside accountants on the annual review and tax engagement
- Support up-line reporting and analytics to the ownership group
- Manage insurance renewals and outside IT as the key point of contact
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years supervising others
- Strong GAAP knowledge across the full close cycle
- Manufacturing and cost accounting experience (a strong plant controller ready to run a whole business is an ideal fit)
- A blend of accounting rigor and FP&A drive — you analyze, not just report
- Experience reporting up to a board or parent company (a plus)
- Curiosity about using AI and modern tools to get more from existing systems
- High-energy, organized, disciplined, and accountable, with genuine follow-through
