Facilities Account Specialist
Join our billing team as a Facilities Account Specialist, where you'll manage facility billing accounts, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and maintain strong communication with facility partners. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, precision, and problem-solving — and enjoys a mix of independent work and cross-department collaboration.
This position is remote-approved, offers a stable hourly schedule, and plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and operational efficiency across facility accounts.
What You'll Do- Review and interpret facility contracts to ensure accurate billing
- Maintain and update contract tracking spreadsheets, including facility contacts, payors, and fee schedules within Traumasoft
- Prepare, audit, and submit facility invoices
- Investigate and resolve invoice disputes or discrepancies
- Post facility payments according to established policies
- Manage facility accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Document all communications and collection activity in tracking systems
- Participate in departmental training and required staff meetings
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Degree or certification in medical billing preferred, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of medical billing and collection practices
- Basic understanding of medical coding and third-party billing
- Ability to operate billing software, office equipment, and multi-line phone systems
- Strong professional communication skills (phone + email)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with facilities, employees, and insurance companies
- Remote work approved per company policy
- Occasional overtime based on business needs
- Work hours may adjust depending on departmental workload
- Sitting or standing for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for computer and office equipment use
