Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Industry Leader to drive strategic growth, opportunity development, and market positioning within a defined industry vertical. This role operates at the intersection of Private Equity and technology advisory, requiring deep experience working with PE sponsors and portfolio companies.

The Industry Leader will be responsible for shaping industry-specific opportunities, developing a clear market thesis, and building a scalable, repeatable practice aligned to Private Equity-backed environments.

Compensation Structure
  • Combination of base retainer and performance-based incentives
  • Participation tied to industry-level profitability and overall firm performance
  • Incentives aligned to revenue growth, margin expansion, and successful opportunity development
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the development and advancement of opportunities within an assigned industry vertical, with a focus on Private Equity-backed companies
  • Lead opportunity shaping efforts, including defining scope, value creation narrative, and engagement strategy
  • Develop and refine a clear industry thesis aligned to Private Equity investment strategies and value creation plans
  • Establish and evolve market positioning, target profiles, and industry-specific go-to-market approaches
  • Build repeatable offerings, frameworks, and playbooks tailored to PE portfolio company needs
  • Curate and develop a bench of industry-aligned talent to support delivery and growth
  • Partner closely with internal leadership to review pipeline progression and prioritize high-value opportunities
  • Support development of industry messaging, collateral, and thought leadership
  • Focused on opportunity ownership and shaping rather than initial sponsor origination
  • Does not directly own Private Equity sponsor relationships at the account level
  • Does not lead day-to-day delivery execution but plays a key role in shaping engagements

Operates within established governance structures and collaborates cross-functionally
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive experience working within Private Equity environments
, including direct exposure to PE sponsors and portfolio companies
  • Proven ability to support value creation initiatives across PE-backed businesses (e.g., transformation, operational improvement, technology strategy)
  • Deep expertise within a defined industry vertical (e.g., healthcare, industrials, technology, distribution, business services)
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to shape and position complex advisory opportunities
  • Experience developing industry-specific strategies, offerings, and go-to-market approaches
  • Ability to engage effectively with executive stakeholders, including C-level leadership and investment teams
  • Demonstrated success operating in fast-paced, high-accountability environments aligned to investment timelines

Strong organizational and leadership capabilities, including the ability to align cross-functional teams
Preferred Experience
  • Background in technology advisory, IT strategy, or digital transformation within PE-backed companies
  • Experience supporting M&A activities, including diligence, integration, or carve-outs
  • Familiarity with building scalable operating models across multi-entity or platform businesses
  • Prior experience working with advisory firms or consulting organizations focused on Private Equity

This role operates within a Private Equity-focused model where sponsor relationships are managed separately, and industry leaders drive vertical-specific growth and opportunity execution. Success in this role requires the ability to navigate both investment-driven priorities and operational realities within portfolio companies.
