Position: Construction Project Manager / Superintendent

Construction Project Manager / Superintendent Company Overview

Swank Builders Inc. is a Flint, Michigan-based residential contractor specializing in high-end remodeling and custom home construction. We partner closely with homeowners to transform existing spaces into thoughtfully designed, finely crafted homes.

We are a growing, team-oriented company that values craftsmanship, clear communication, and doing what we say we will do. Our projects are detailed, our clients are engaged, and we take pride in delivering work that stands out for its quality and reliability.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager / Superintendent to take ownership of residential remodeling projects from pre-construction through final walk-through. This is a hands-on, on-site leadership role where you will be the central point of coordination between clients, trade partners, vendors, and our internal team.

If you enjoy running multiple jobs, solving problems in the field, and seeing a plan come to life with high-quality finishes, this role offers the chance to grow your influence, sharpen your leadership skills, and directly impact client satisfaction and company performance.

What You'll Do
  • Lead residential remodeling projects from planning and pre-construction through punch list and final completion, ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate daily activities with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members so everyone understands priorities, schedules, and expectations.
  • Build and maintain realistic project schedules, track progress, and adjust plans to keep jobs moving while protecting quality and safety.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor workmanship, enforce OSHA safety compliance, and resolve field issues before they impact timelines or budgets.
  • Use construction management software (Buildertrend or similar) to manage documentation, RFIs, change orders, daily logs, photos, and client updates.
  • Ensure compliance with Michigan state building codes, inspections, and permitting requirements on every project.
  • Proactively identify risks, scope gaps, and coordination issues, and implement solutions that minimize rework and change orders.
  • Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with homeowners so they always know where the project stands and what comes next.
What Success Looks Like
  • Within your first 612 months, you are independently managing multiple remodeling projects from start to finish, consistently hitting agreed-upon schedules and budgets.
  • Homeowners rate their experience highly, citing your communication, organization, and follow-through as key reasons they would recommend Swank Builders.
  • Job sites are well-organized, safe, and inspection-ready, with minimal rework and strong relationships with subcontractors and inspectors.
  • Buildertrend (or similar software) is used consistently to keep documentation current, giving the team and clients clear visibility into each project's status.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of project management and/or site supervision experience in residential construction or remodeling, with the ability to run multiple projects at once.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work on schedule, with strong planning, organization, and follow-through.
  • Clear, confident communication skills with homeowners, trades, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management software, or the ability to quickly learn and adopt digital project tools.
  • Working knowledge of Michigan building codes, permitting processes, inspections, and jobsite safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and contracts, and translate them into clear directions in the field.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel between Flint-area job sites.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary of $65,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Health insurance, access to retirement plans, paid vacation and holidays.
  • Full-time, W-2 employment.
  • On-site role based in the Flint, MI area with regular local travel between job sites; typical full-time weekday schedule with project-driven flexibility as needed.
