ResponsibilitiesAn SP+ Cashier will create an efficient, stress‑free, and enjoyable experience for each customer.
- Treat each customer with respect and kindness, ensuring each interaction delivers on the SP+ Promise of making every moment matter.
- Be present at work every scheduled day, on time, in uniform, and ready to assist customers.
- Count the “bank” of revenue at the beginning of the shift to ensure the starting total is correct.
- Collect cash and/or validations and maintain the security of cash.
- Make change and issue receipts or tickets for each transaction.
- Compute or recalculate the bill from a ticket showing the amount due per customer.
- Operate the cash register after time calculation (manually or by machine), calculate the cost of a transaction, and display the amount on the register.
- Quote prices for parking services for which money is received upon customer receipt.
- Give directions to city locations and assist customers, ensuring they get where they are going easily and efficiently.
- Complete lost‑ticket forms when original tickets cannot be located.
- Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently, asking a supervisor for assistance when needed.
- Answer telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of the booth and pick up trash in the surrounding area.
- Check that a proper inventory of necessary work aids and supplies is located in the booth.
- Verify the log of shift transactions against the bank of revenue on hand.
- Compile the bank of collected revenue during the day once a predetermined amount of money has been collected.
- Record amounts received, cars in/out of the facility, and cars left in a facility (if applicable) while preparing the shift report of transactions.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
What you need
Education and/or
Experience:
Less than a high‑school education or up to one month related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Availability to work: Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be required depending on location hiring needs.
License requirement: A valid state‑issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record may be required if driving a company vehicle is part of the role.
Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to make change.
Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisors, and other employees.
Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but standard written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
Other skills and abilities: Ability to use a clock (standard/military time), calculator (optional), or credit‑card machine to handle transactions; maintain a pleasant and mannerly demeanor when speaking on the telephone and with the public; respond effectively to customer problems or complaints.
Physical demands: The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
Salary Range: $15.00 per hour
