Job Summary
Mott Community College is seeking Supervising Dentists to supervise patient care provided by Dental Hygiene students and faculty. Responsibilities include clinical oversight, consultation, evaluation of oral abnormalities, radiographic interpretation, dental diagnosis, preventative prescription, and pain management. Supervising Dentists will be available for faculty, staff, student, and patient consultation and referrals, and will work closely with the Program Coordinator and Dean to build a robust curriculum.
Qualifications- Doctorate (DDS or DMD) from an accredited dental school.
- Licensed in the State of Michigan.
- Current Controlled Substance License.
- Certified Health Care Provider BLS/CPR.

The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds associated with a dental clinic. May be required to travel between campuses for departmental meetings.
Physical Demands- Ability to work in a dental setting with potential exposure to bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens; use of Personal Protective Equipment is required.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of a Dental Hygienist.
- Maintain appropriate composure and confidentiality with regard to employees, students, and donors.
- Interact professionally with employees, students, and the public, especially when strong emotions are expressed.
- Frequently move around assigned work areas, hallways, meeting rooms, and clinics.
- May be required to sit, stand, or use a computer for extended periods.
- May assist in lifting/transferring patients into operatory chairs.
- Specific vision abilities required: close and distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to shift focal point quickly and track multiple projects.
- Ability to manipulate instruments and equipment with speed, dexterity, and hand‑eye coordination.
- Can work in an environment with potential latex or nitrile exposure without allergic reaction.
