As a member of the Dental team, this position is responsible for providing dental care to the patients of HCHN. This position will provide dental care for 95% of the time, and administrative responsibilities 5% of the time.
General responsibilities
Performs dental examinations, procedures, and prescribes medications to patients as assigned or as needed.
Advises patient on dental care education issues when needed.
Protects patients' oral health by diagnosing and treating disease, injuries, abnormalities of teeth and gums, and undertaking preventive procedures.
Advise patients on good health practices.
Ensures patients receive educational materials that pertain to their patient's dental health needs.
Refers patients to specialists when required and in accordance with their insurance restrictions.
Performs procedures on patients in need. Develops and implements goals and objectives to ensure high quality, cost-effective clinical care.
Education and/or Experience Licensed to practice in Michigan preferably with dental family practice experience. Must have DEA registration. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience in dental care related organization.

Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with the CEO, other members of the Management Team, Board, business associates and community groups.
Effectively and efficiently complete all paperwork requirements for billing and medical records compliance.
Strong oral and written communication and presentational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, to effectively and tactfully deal with a diverse group of patients, staff, customers, and community groups.
General computer proficiency.
