Position SummaryFlint Cultural Center Academy is seeking a highly skilled Counselor of Academic Pathways & Student Success to assist our leadership team. This role is designed to strengthen instructional excellence, support student achievement, and ensure a cohesive, counseling‑informed academic program across middle and high school grade levels.
The ideal candidate is an experienced educational leader with a strong background in curriculum development, high school program design, academic counseling, and instructional coaching. This individual will work closely with school administration, teachers, students, and families to build systems that promote academic success, student growth, graduation readiness, and strong postsecondary outcomes.

Qualifications &Key Responsibilities
- Required Qualifications
- Valid Michigan School Counselor Certificate required with ability to enroll in an approved secondary school administration certification program within 12 months of hire
- Minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching experience, with demonstrated leadership in academic programming
- Ability to enroll in an approved secondary school administration certification program within 12 months of hire
- Strong knowledge of curriculum design, assessment, and instructional best practices
- Experience supporting high school academic pathways, graduation requirements, and postsecondary readiness
- Background in student counseling, academic intervention, and social‑emotional support systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and strong work ethic
- Commitment to FCCA’s mission, values, and student‑centered culture
- Provide academic leadership to ensure high‑quality instruction and rigorous curriculum implementation
- Support the design, alignment, and continuous improvement of middle and high school academic pathways
- Collaborate with teachers to strengthen lesson planning, instructional delivery, and student engagement
- Lead curriculum development efforts and ensure alignment with Michigan standards and graduation requirements
- Monitor student academic progress and implement targeted interventions and support systems
- Partner with counseling and support staff to promote student success, attendance, and social‑emotional growth
- Support college and career readiness initiatives, including dual enrollment, CTE pathways, and academic planning
- Guide students and families in academic decision‑making, course selection, and graduation planning
- Build strong relationships with families and engage them as partners in student achievement
- Foster a school‑wide culture of high expectations, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical leadership at all times
Salary is determined by the FCCA administrative salary matrix. Candidates with successful prior leadership experience may be placed higher on the scale. Full health, dental, and vision benefits are included. $48,699- $76,527 Based on Full Year
