Starting salary is dependent on education, directly related experience and internal equity. After completing the second probationary semester, the potential exists to earn additional compensation by teaching overload and spring/summer sessions. This additional compensation varies based on several factors, including educational level and step. For example, a faculty member with a Master' s degree at Step 0 who teaches 10 hours of overload during the fall and winter semesters would earn an additional $18,000.

Purpose, Scope & Dimension of Job:
Faculty facilitate student learning and initiate and participate in efforts to consistently improve the level of student success. As learning facilitators, faculty consistently assess learning outcomes and their own teaching effectiveness (pedagogy). As professionals, faculty adhere to the ethical standards of their profession as outlined, for example, by the NEA and the State of Michigan. Where applicable, faculty maintain licensure and certifications.
In addition, full-time faculty have the following key responsibilities which are described more fully below in the Essential Duties/Major Accountabilities section:

Specific Teaching Assignment:
Faculty member will be responsible for teaching classes in Computer Aided Design and Drafting
Supervisory Responsibility:
Faculty are sometimes called upon to perform quasi-supervisory responsibilities, particularly in their role as Coordinators.
Minimum Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Aided Design, Product Design Engineering Technology, Applied Science, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Associate's Degree with 30 credit hours in Computer Aided Design & Drafting specialty courses from an accredited institution.
* 2. Two (2) years work experience in the field of design and/or engineering, directly involved with the application of CAD tools to create products, structures, machines, or tooling.
3. Understanding of and commitment to community college teaching, mission and philosophy.
4. Innovative, flexible, and positive teaching style and understanding the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
5. Language
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions…
