Safety and Security Monitor

Reports To

Building Principal

N/A

Responsible for providing supervision and safety for students throughout the day including passing times.

$15/hour, 30 hours/week

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with middle school students
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, administration, and parents
• Ability to take direction and plan actions
• Ability to supervise students in structured and unstructured situations
• Possession of excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Knowledge of and adherence to all district requirements and Board of Education policies
• Ability to meet deadlines

• Supervise hallways, restrooms, outdoor area around building
• Supervise cafeteria and other areas before school and during lunch periods
• Make recommendations regarding security issues to building principal
• Inform counselors, parents, teachers, and school administrators of student behavior problems
• Assist the administration with student searches, as requested
• Assist with tardiness and attendance problems
• Escort students to and from offices as needed
• Control crowds as necessary including student arrival and dismissal times in and around building
• Perform other duties as assigned
