- Two years post secondary education, required.
- Strong knowledge of and competency in computer programs including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, desktop publishing.
- Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and community.
- Physical ability to lift a minimum of forty (40) pounds.
- Has an electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check.
- Preferred qualification of certification of completion in first aid, CPR, Behavior Management and Physical Intervention skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of telecommunications (electronic mail, automated library circulation, Internet).
- Understand and maintain confidentiality, professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, parents and the community.
- Provide instruction to students and staff in the use of print and electronic reference tools and information literacy processes.
- Assist students in strategies for intellectual access to information and ideas for learning.
- Provide information and instruction in areas of information literacy, research, acceptable use policy, intellectual property and copyright and the use of educational technologies.
- Promote integrated use of technology as a learning tool.
- Promote student reading for information and pleasure.
- Reinforce strategy-based reading instruction.
- Create and implement procedures for media center operations.
- Develop and maintain a diversified media center collection of print, non-print and electronic resources.
- Schedule media facilities for instruction and supervising student use.
- Morning arrival supervision & support
- Dismissal supervision & support
- Lunch supervision & support
- 1:1 student academic plan support
- Small group academic interventions (MTSS determined)
- Large group academic MTSS support (ie: on/above level options)
- Offering a quiet/calming space to students based on MTSS needs
- Support of student breaks, heavy work, sensory walks (if available)
- Provide information and instruction in areas of information literacy, research, acceptable use policy, intellectual property and copyright and the use of educational technologies.

This is a scheduled student days (7 hours/day) position with salary and benefits as outlined in the Agreement between the Mt. Pleasant Support Personnel Association and the Mt. Pleasant School District Board of Education.
EVALUATIONPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions established in the Agreement between the Mt. Pleasant Support Personnel Association and the Mt. Pleasant School District Board of Education.
