Assistant​/Associate​/Professor Tenure-Track Faculty Mathematics - CIT Mathematics

The College of Innovation and Technology at the University of Michigan-Flint invites applications for one or more tenure‑track positions in the Department of Mathematics. Successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Mathematics, Actuarial Mathematics, Data Analytics, and Data Science; mentor students; establish an externally‑funded research program; publish in peer‑reviewed journals and conference proceeding; and help shape new programs and courses in actuarial mathematics, statistics, and/or mathematical data science.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics, actuarial mathematics, statistics, data analytics, and data science.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including guiding research projects.
• Develop and conduct an externally‑funded research program and publish scholarly work.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new courses and program initiatives.
• Participate in faculty and student community activities.

• Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, data science, or a closely related field by the appointment date.
• Exceptional promise in both research and teaching with a record of teaching excellence in face‑to‑face, online, and experiential settings.
• Strong scholarship record and potential for successful grant writing.
• Ability to develop and mentor undergraduate research projects.
• Commitment to advancing the goals of the department, college, and university.

Positions will commence on either August 20, 2026 or January 1, 2027, depending on the selected candidate’s preference.
