Position: Tenure Track Assistant Professor/Teaching Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor of the Practice
Preferred Qualifications

* Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level;

* Demonstrated excellence in research and other scholarly activity;

* Experience in teaching mechatronics, dynamic systems, vibrations, and controls.

Job Specific

Required Qualifications

* Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field;

* ABD with completion by time of appointment will be considered;

* Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in dynamic systems, mechatronics;

* Ability to complement at least one of our existing strengths such as advanced mobility, autonomous systems, new energy, crash safety, or related areas;

* Ability to use modern engineering tools for teaching and research;

* Ability to develop an externally funded applied-research program;

* Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in the English language;

* Ability and desire to contribute through department, university, community and professional service work.

Evidence of, research for Assistant/Associate Professor and/or industrial applications of mechatronics and dynamic systems for Professor of the Practice. Note the Assistant/Associate Professor are tenure track while the Teaching Professor and Professor of the Practice are non-tenured renewable positions with the possibility of multi-year contracts.

Teaching and learning duties, including course, laboratories, and curriculum development, student projects, professional development aiming at enhancing student learning and best practices in teaching and learning.

Percent of total time 35 Duties

Research and scholarship:
This includes establishing a research program appropriate for Kettering University, and aligned with teacher-scholar model. Also, it is expected that faculty involve students in research projects, publish their research and scholarship work in peer reviewed journals, as well as presentations in conferences.

Percent of total time 20 Duties

Service and citizenship:
This includes service activities within the department, the institution, the profession, and the community.
