Minimum salary for this position is $6,375 per section, based on a 25% effort appointment. The University of Michigan-Flint invites applications for a part-time faculty position at the Lecturer I level for the period of August 20 through December 19, 2026. The successful candidate will teach one or more sections of EDM 330:
Fractions Are Numbers, a 3-credit-hour (25% effort) undergraduate course. Applicants should indicate which sections they are applying for.

Course
Description:
Exploration of how visual models, equipartitioning, number lines, comparison, and equivalence can be used to build foundational understanding of operations with rational numbers. Pedagogical strategies include: unpacking mathematical content; performing mathematical explanations; choosing, interpreting, and talking with representations; and eliciting, interpreting, supporting, and extending others’ thinking. Graded ABCDE
Required Qualifications
Prospective candidates should minimally possess a master’s degree in education. Graduate work must have been completed within an accredited program. Evidence of relevant teaching experience is required. The ability to work on campus during the course meeting time is expected.
Desired Qualifications- Experience teaching math to pre-service teachers.
- Experience with and knowledge of the Ongoing Assessment Project’s books and materials.
- Experience working with young children and mathematics.
- Experience with mathematics learning progressions/trajectories related to the topics of the courses.
