- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of two years of professional residence life experience, including supervision of student staff.

Participation in and support of major university events, including commencement, new student orientations, and other campus‑wide programs is expected.
Job Duties- Administration (50% of time) – Manage residence hall housing 400+ students. Collaborate with facilities, grounds and custodial, dining services, security, information technology, and other campus units to maintain first‑rate living and learning community. Open and close residence hall per the year‑round academic calendar. Manage residence life finances, including budgeting and projection. Develop and publish residence life publications, including procedures manuals, admissions materials, and housing guides.
Prepare room assignments, bill room and board expenses to student accounts. - Education (20% of time) – Direct residence life staff to create and maintain a positive, multicultural learner‑centered community which exemplifies best practices in student development. Promote, encourage, and reward student learning, academic success, and co‑curricular participation. Foster an atmosphere of respect for individuality and community values. Support and encourage student safety and security. Communicate and promote University and Residence Life expectations and policies.
Act as hearing officer for student misconduct that takes place in residence hall. - Supervision & Staff Development (20% of time) – Provide leadership in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of 18 resident assistants per term, including ongoing staff training through team‑building activities, professional development workshops, and other programs. Coordinate weekly staff meetings to reinforce training objectives and promote staff development.
- Crisis Response (5% of time) – Provide leadership to Assistant Director of Residence Life, resident assistants, and residents regarding crisis response. Respond appropriately and timely to all residence life emergencies. Train student staff in policies and procedures for crisis response. Assume on‑call responsibility for the residence hall.
- Admissions and Student Life Events (5% of time) – Assist with admissions and student life events, including orientations, welcome weeks, and family days. Serve on various campus committees as needed.
