Tenure Track Assistant Professor

Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in areas including but not limited to applied research in fields like new energy, sustainability, and materials engineering;
Experience in teaching labs and lecture courses at the undergraduate level;
Evidence of effective teaching;
Potential for development of an externally funded research program
Job Specific
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or closely related field;
Ability to teach undergraduate chemical engineering lecture courses, such as chemical engineering process design, separations and reactions engineering, fluid dynamics and heat transfer, and mass and energy balances;
Ability to develop and teach undergraduate chemical engineering labs involving such topics as reaction engineering, separations, fluid dynamics and heat transfer, and data analysis;
Ability to develop elective courses suitable for undergraduate engineering students in broad fields such as sustainability, process safety, alternative energy, and materials science;
Ability to develop an externally funded applied research program;
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in the English language;
Ability and desire to build strong collaborations within the department and throughout the university, in the community, and through professional societies.
Job Duties
Teaching and learning duties, including course, laboratories, and curriculum development, student projects, professional development aiming at enhancing student learning and best practices in teaching and learning.
Research and scholarship:
This includes establishing a research program appropriate for Kettering University, and aligned with teacher-scholar model. Also, it is expected that faculty involves students in research projects, publish their research and scholarship work in peer reviewed journals, as well as presentations in conferences.
Service and citizenship:
This includes service activities within the department, the institution, the profession, and the community.
