Typically they ask for Michigan Teacher Certificate with Learning Disabilities but prefer “Emotional Impairment endorsement” (EI) & "Cognitively Impaired" (CI) or MDE endorsement ZA (Early Childhood) and 1 other area of Special Education. Please pre-qualify candidate:
Flint may ask candidate about the struggles of Urban children or resources that would be appropriate for their students and families. Client may ask about their understanding/knowledge of special education as it relates to (MARSE) Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education with Related IDEA Federal Regulations Support - there is an entire special education team at each school, they would also have LSS department support.

A lot of students have a 1 on 1 para, and a lot of teachers have a classroom paraprofessional as well. There are also behavior specialists at each building.
