This full-time, on-site 7th grade math teacher role is based at THE NEW STANDARD ACADEMY in Flint, MI. The teacher will plan and deliver daily math lessons aligned with curriculum standards, including topics such as ratios and proportions, algebraic expressions, equations, geometry, and statistics. Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs, assessing student progress through assignments and tests, and providing timely feedback.

The teacher will maintain an organized, inclusive classroom environment, manage student behavior using school-wide expectations, and communicate regularly with families about student performance and goals. Additional duties may include collaborating with colleagues, participating in professional development, and contributing to school events and community activities.

• Ability to design and deliver effective 7th grade math instruction, including experience with middle school math standards and curriculum planning.
• Skills in classroom management, student engagement, and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment for diverse learners.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, colleagues, and school leadership.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, or a related field; appropriate state teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Commitment to equity, student-centered learning, and ongoing professional growth; experience in urban or community-focused schools is beneficial.
