Description
The College of Innovation and Technology (CIT) is hiring for one or more tenure-track positions as an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department, specifically in the areas of statistics. The department offers undergraduate programs in Mathematics and Actuarial Mathematics, and undergraduate and graduate programs in Data Analytics. Successful candidates will teach courses in these fields (typically a teaching load of two 4-credit courses per semester), mentor students, develop new courses and/or programs, and establish a robust research program leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals and a strong potential for external grant funding.
Candidates with experience with actuarial mathematics will be given extra consideration.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field by the appointment date.
Candidates must show exceptional promise in both research and teaching and are expected to have an appreciation of and commitment to working collaboratively with the faculty and student body.
Candidates must have:
- A record of teaching excellence, including the potential to teach in face-to-face, online, and experiential learning settings.
- A record of research and scholarly publications, including the potential for an externally-funded research program
- The ability to further the goals of the department, college, and university through the design and implementation of courses and/or programs
- The ability to generate and mentor undergraduate student research projects
