Description

Goyette Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to join our Service Projects Division. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating project opportunities, developing accurate and competitive estimates, procuring vendor and subcontractor pricing, coordinating project turnover, and supporting field operations from conception through completion.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction practices, and customer relationship management. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple projects while ensuring profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction. Experience in HVAC, plumbing, piping, or related mechanical trades is highly preferred.

Requirements

Monitor and respond to sales leads, customer inquiries, and project opportunities.

Define project scope, evaluate requirements, and prepare accurate estimates and proposals.

Obtain and negotiate pricing from vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors.

Conduct project kickoff meetings and provide complete turnover packages, including proposals, drawings, and supporting documentation.

Procure materials and equipment necessary for project startup and successful execution.

Coordinate project scheduling and communicate timelines, start dates, and expectations with customers.

Review, price, and process change orders as project requirements evolve.

Assist with permit applications and ensure required project documentation is completed accurately.

Build and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service and ongoing communication.

Perform equipment evaluations and provide repair, replacement, and upgrade recommendations for customers.

Review and approve invoices, material costs, and related project documentation.

Monitor project performance and profitability through job reviews and closeout activities.

Provide estimating and technical support to field personnel and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.

Identify and coordinate available utility and energy provider rebate opportunities for qualifying projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly & comfortably with customers & employees over the phone & in person
  • Genuine care and compassion for the customer and the drive to help people are critical for this position
  • Quick thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work based on deadlines as well as excellent time management skills are necessary to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous construction or HVAC experience is a plus but is
    not required
    as training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is helpful
  • Must be able to foster and support a teamwork environment, placing a high emphasis on excellent customer service.

  • Existing Customer Base is a plus
