Position: PRIVACY AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER (IT)

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public policy, or a related field; OR Six (6) years' experience within the last ten (10) years focused in a compliance-related role involving HIPAA, ADA, PCI and/or CJIS regulations.

Salary: $42.0995 per hour ($87,567 annually)

JOB SUMMARY

The Genesee County Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all units of county government are in compliance with the rules and regulations governing HIPAA, PCI, CJIS, ADA and other applicable regulations. This individual will work closely with departmental leaders to identify, assess and mitigate compliance risks across all county programs and services to implement policies and procedures that protect the privacy and security of sensitive information and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.

Works under the general supervision of the Chief Information Security Officer and performs related duties as required.

Essential

Job Duties And Functions
  • Serves as a member of the county technology team;
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with HIPAA, ADA, PCI and CJIS regulations throughout all county units;
  • Conduct regular compliance assessments and audits to identify potential risks and areas of improvement;
  • Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs for county employees;
  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues and complaints;
  • Monitor and respond to changes in relevant regulations and industry best practices;
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators and other compliance stakeholders;
  • Advise county leadership on compliance matters and provide guidance on best practices;
  • Work closely with both technical and non-technical staff to resolve, document and support a variety of issues and services;
  • Promptly resolve all issues and requests.
