In alignment with the agreement, the Speech & Language Pathologist will be placed on the MA +30 pay scale.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Qualified candidates must hold a Master’s degree from an accredited university and hold appropriate State of Michigan certification - or demonstrate the ability to obtain certification through the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).

  • Solid understanding of standardized and informal assessment tools, along with effective intervention strategies for communication disorders
  • Knowledge of medical and clinical considerations related to individuals with language, learning, and developmental disabilities
  • Proficiency with educational software, classroom accommodations, and assistive technology to support language and learning-impaired students
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and report relevant data to inform service planning
  • Familiarity with applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures related to speech-language services
Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations in accordance with MARSE (Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education) and IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) guidelines
  • Prepare clear, detailed, and timely evaluation reports
  • Develop individualized strategies and service delivery models tailored to student needs
  • Participate in and/or facilitate MET (Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team) meetings, IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, and school staff meetings
