Internship:

• 16-20 hours per week
• $18 per hour
• Position ends after 1040 hours worked

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Windows 8/10/11
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar desktop office suites
• Good communication skills and likes to work with people
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Valid Driver’s license for travel to agency sites (in Genesee County, most in city of Flint)
• Able to lift and carry computer components (up to 50 lbs.)
• Must be available to work a minimum of 16 hours per week
• Have good typing skills
• Must be a hard worker, self-starter
• Working on a degree in one of the following majors:
  Computer Information Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Networking, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering

Preferred:

• Some knowledge of computer hardware, including component installation and configuration
• Help desk or troubleshooting experience, either in a computer “lab” or office setting
• Experience in troubleshooting computer software and hardware
• At least a sophomore majoring in Computer Science/Computer Information Systems

Environment:

• 700+ computers, Windows 8/10/11
• Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Microsoft Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022 Server, Exchange 2016 Server, SQL Server 2016, IIS
• WAN over MPLS and cable, includes central campus and 8 outlying sites

Essential Physical Demands:

• Vision – Position requires the ability to visually assess details at both near and far distances, as well as to perceive depth and spatial relationships with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Hearing – Position requires the ability to receive and respond to verbal communication with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Lifting, Standing, and Walking With or Without Reasonable Accommodations:
  • Position requires the ability to lift up to 35lbs on an occasional basis
  • Position requires the ability to regularly stand for extended periods of time
  • Position requires the ability to walk at a minimum of 35% up to a maximum of 65%
• Position will require the ability to occasionally stoop, bend, or reach to perform work tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
• Position must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including the use of hands and fingers for handling, grasping, typing, writing, or operating equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.
