Position OverviewLINC is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support operations in Flint, Michigan, servicing General Motors. This role is responsible for analyzing and improving material flow, warehouse operations, inventory management, and production support processes within a high-volume automotive environment. The Industrial Engineer will partner with operations leadership to design efficient processes, improve productivity, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives across multiple logistics and manufacturing support functions.
This position offers hands-on exposure to automotive supply chain operations and the opportunity to make a measurable impact on daily performance.
- Analyze and improve material flow, inventory movement, and production support processes.
- Design and optimize warehouse layouts, storage locations, workstations, and assembly support areas.
- Develop and maintain Plan for Every Part (PFEP) methodologies.
- Conduct time studies, labor analysis, and productivity evaluations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Support line-side delivery planning and implementation.
- Create visual management tools and standard work documentation.
- Utilize data analysis to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with process mapping, workflow development, and operational design projects.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma activities.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and customer teams to support business objectives.
- Develop reports, presentations, and performance metrics for management review.
- Required Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Preferred 0 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or distribution operations.
- Experience conducting time studies and labor planning activities.
- Knowledge of material flow, inventory control, and production support operations.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing or supply chain operations.
