Job Summary

To care for the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of the Academy building, equipment and grounds.

Status:

Non-Exempt

• Perform all custodial duties
• Perform daily maintenance of Academy buildings and grounds
• Lock and secure the building according to security protocol
• Create and maintain cleaning schedules
• Review and evaluate equipment, materials and supplies
• Move and lift equipment, materials and supplies as needed
• Ensure meeting rooms are set up in the evening for next day usage
• Deliver and retrieve items from various outside locations and perform other errands as directed
• Perform routine cleaning of equipment and minor repairs as needed
• All other duties as assigned

Description Of Duties

• Perform all custodial duties
• Perform daily maintenance of Academy buildings and grounds

• Move and lift equipment, materials and supplies as needed
• Ensure meeting rooms are set up in the evening for next day usage
• Deliver and retrieve items from various outside locations and perform other errands as directed
• Perform routine cleaning of equipment and minor repairs as needed
• Maintain equipment
• All other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Ability to spend the entire time at work standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, bending, climbing, operating medium weight cleaning equipment (such as floor buffers), sweeping and mopping floors and moving desks and furniture
• Ability to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items up to 75 pounds unassisted
• Ability to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, dust and noise
• Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions
• Employees should wear a back belt when lifting heavy objects

Qualifications

• Custodial experience
• Criminal records clearance
• Current driver’s license and transportation
• High school diploma/GED

Behavior Expectations

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed, controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment at the Academy.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Duties

In order to successfully perform the essential duties of this job, the employee would ideally be able to meet the following physical demands:

• Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Stand and walk frequently.
• Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year.
• Withstand a moderate noise level.
