PurposeThe Supervisor of Maintenance Operations is a working Supervisor position, under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, Physical Plant, and via the Facilities Services Group, provides students, staff, faculty and visitors with an attractive, safe and functional physical environment in which to study and work, coordinating and administering maintenance of College facilities to assure this environment.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThe Supervisor of Maintenance Operations supervises up to seven (7) M&O positions. Supervision of all employees includes dissemination of daily work instructions, implementation of preventative maintenance programs and oversight of maintenance contracts beyond the scope of in‑house employees.
Qualifications- Experience as a maintenance supervisor in a diversified multiple‑building, multiple‐system facility similar to Mott Community College.
- Experience working effectively with MCC’s administrative and management teams and external organizations.
- MCC DEI Micro‑Credential.
Walking, talking, multi‑tasking, carrying light loads (approx. 25 lbs. or less) and being exposed to heights of four stories or more. Office, shop and construction site environment; regularly exposed to mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards; occasionally subject to dirt, dust, noise, fumes and other hazardous temperature extremes, poor lighting, confined spaces, elevated heights, asbestos and other hazardous substances.
Work ScheduleFull‑time. Must be willing to work a flexible shift if needed. Additional hours may be required to accommodate presentations, deadlines, meeting schedules, etc. Must be capable of working extended hours in case of emergency situations. Actively on call 24/7/52 with regard to any and all systems. Must be available at all times to respond to emergency situations.
