Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Bindery Supervisor / Lead Bindery Operator to lead daily operations within the bindery and finishing department. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for machine setup, production efficiency, employee development, quality standards, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
The department consists of approximately 11 core team members
, with additional support brought in during peak production periods. The ideal candidate will combine strong bindery expertise with proven leadership experience and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day bindery operations on 1st shift.
- Lead, train, and develop bindery personnel while promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Perform advanced machine setups and provide troubleshooting support as needed.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure deadlines and quality standards are achieved.
- Maintain workflow efficiency and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
- Manage staffing needs and support temporary or floating personnel during high‑volume periods.
- Communicate effectively with production, scheduling, and management teams.
- Maintain high standards for product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership, training, or supervisory experience in a bindery or finishing environment preferred.
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of commercial printing and bindery operations.
- Ability to lead by example and work alongside the team when necessary.
- Experience with machine setup, troubleshooting, and production workflows.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to motivate employees and maintain a positive work culture.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
