ShiftSchedule
Night shift position. Hours are 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The schedule is a rotating 2‑2‑3 cycle: two days on, two days off, three days on, followed by the reverse sequence. Team members work every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Job PurposeResponsible for the filling of containers for all products supplied by the processing department. Maintain integrity and sterilization of filling, capping, and associated equipment; complete required documentation; ensure compliance with legal parameters; perform product testing and evaluation protocols; adjust equipment to maintain integrity; clean machines/lines per food processing requirements; troubleshoot, perform minor repairs, and clear any jams.
Responsibilities- Follow all safety, working, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules.
- Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
- Weigh, inspect, and verify product weight or measurement to meet specifications.
- Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
- Supply filling equipment with materials such as caps, sanitizing chemicals, and bottles.
- Proactively monitor the production line, filler, and capper for problems such as pile‑ups or jams.
- Count and record finished and rejected packaged items.
- Escalate issues in line with the escalation procedure.
- Clean the filler, capper, coder, and surrounding area (CIP). Maintain the entire filling area in an audit‑ready condition during production.
- Confirm product quality with the Quality Assurance Department prior to and during production to ensure it meets all quality protocols.
- Oil, troubleshoot, and make minor adjustments or repairs to filling and capping equipment.
- Aid in the training of new personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Must work in a safe, efficient manner and follow all safety procedures, including the use of safety equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot small problems and discern when issues require input from higher authority.
- Willingness to ask for assistance when processes are unclear.
- Proficiency in English: comfortable with written and verbal communication, including reading and writing.
- Basic computational skills required. Simple math and reasoning required.
- Must be able to operate equipment effectively after the appropriate break‑in period.
Must possess or be able to use HMI (Human Machine Interface) devices and understand process trending.
Working Conditions andPhysical Requirements
- Sitting/Standing/Walking/Lifting/Carrying:
Filler Operator stands throughout shift, walks on uneven concrete and tile surfaces, may lift up to 50 lb. - Pushing/Pulling/Bending/Stooping:
Pushing or pulling boxes of caps, stacking collapsed boxes on a pallet, using brooms or mops during cleanup, occasional bending and stooping. - Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling/Twisting/Turning:
Squatting to pick up product from floor or during cleanup; occasional slight twisting and turning at waist. - Climbing/Balancing/Reaching:
Steps on and off filling platform; reaches below or above shoulder level when adding boxes to a pallet or dumping caps into a hopper. - Grasping/Manipulation:
Frequent use of hands and fingers. - Environment:
Employees will be subject to ambient temperatures.
