Manufacturing Solutions Consultant – Michigan (Full-Time | Permanent)
We are looking for a Manufacturing Solutions Consultant based in Michigan. This is a full-time permanent position.
What You’ll DoYou will join our Consulting team as a Manufacturing Solutions Consultant, partnering with customers across North America to identify and deliver digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 transformation opportunities.
- Lead customer discovery workshops and factory assessments to identify operational improvement opportunities.
- Engage with plant leadership, engineering, operations, maintenance, and quality teams to understand business challenges.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes, automation systems, and shop floor operations.
- Serve as the Manufacturing SME during presales engagements, customer workshops, and executive presentations.
- Translate manufacturing challenges into scalable solution roadmaps in collaboration with Solution Architects.
- Define and shape Industry 4.0 use cases such as OEE, Predictive Maintenance, Digital Twin, Energy Management, Quality Analytics, and Production Monitoring.
- Advise customers on manufacturing technologies including ERP, MES, SCADA, PLCs, Historians, Industrial IoT, and industrial data platforms.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Consulting, and Delivery teams to develop customer- centric manufacturing solutions.
- Develop reusable consulting frameworks, assessment methodologies, and industry accelerators.
- Represent the organization at customer meetings, manufacturing forums, and industry events while staying current with emerging manufacturing technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- 8–12 years of experience in manufacturing operations, manufacturing consulting, plant automation, or Industry 4.0.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes across industries such as Automotive, Industrial Equipment, Consumer Goods, Metals, or Process Manufacturing.
- Experience conducting manufacturing assessments, customer discovery workshops, and consulting engagements.
- Hands‑on knowledge of manufacturing technologies including MES, ERP, SCADA, PLCs, CMMS, Historians, and Industrial IoT platforms.
- Strong understanding of Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, Digital Manufacturing, Manufacturing Intelligence, and Connected Factory initiatives.
- Experience supporting manufacturing presales, solution consulting, or digital transformation programs.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Operational Excellence methodologies is preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and workshop facilitation skills.
- Strong consultative mindset with the ability to bridge manufacturing operations and technology solutions.
- Willingness to travel 40–60% across customer manufacturing facilities in North America.
- Accelerate sales cycles through effective customer discovery and solution consulting.
- Increase qualified pipeline, win rates, and overall deal value by identifying manufacturing transformation opportunities.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with manufacturing leadership, driving strategic account growth and repeat business.
- Develop reusable consulting frameworks, assessment methodologies, and industry accelerators to improve consulting effectiveness.
- Drive product and consulting innovation by translating customer needs into scalable solutions.
- Contribute to the growth of the North American Consulting practice through manufacturing expertise and thought leadership.
