Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Lake Orion, MI
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Extension Potential)
Insight Global is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support Value Added Assembly (VAA) operations. This role will serve as the primary technical liaison between the client and VAA suppliers, ensuring successful program launches through effective project management, manufacturing process oversight, and supplier coordination.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in automotive assembly, launch execution, and process optimization within high-volume manufacturing environments. This individual will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and supplier teams to drive flawless launch performance, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to production milestones.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
, Industrial Engineering
, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - 8-10 years of automotive manufacturing experience in a high-volume production environment.
- Minimum 4 years of Project or Program Management experience supporting launch activities.
Hands-on experience with:
- Assembly processes and manufacturing operations
- Tooling and production equipment
- Material flow and logistics
- Quality systems and production readiness
Experience developing and facilitating:
- PFMEA
- Red Rabbit reviews
- Error-proofing strategies
Experience supporting one or more of the following vehicle systems:
- Headliners
- Front Vertical Assembly
- Rear Suspension
- Rear Axles
- Engine Dress
- Tire & Wheel Assembly
- Lower Console
- SUV and Pickup Truck Manufacturing
