Seeking an Experienced Steel Fabrication Shop Superintendent

Responsibilities:

Supervises-

• 40-50 Employees
• AWS welding, machining, shipping, and material handling
• Cleaning, painting, staging and loading
• Fitting, Assembly, Jigs & Fixture use/setup
• AISC document & non-conformance controls
• ASTM Material usage, Inventory Control procedures
• Shipping, Delivery
• Department Revision Control

Evaluates -

• employee performance, and assigns tasks
• production goal status & adjusts to achieve expectations
• Recruiting, Testing, Training new hires (& junior employees)
• workforce adherence to company policies

Contributes input for/in-

• staff / interdepartmental meeting topics
• project / production co-ordination meetings
• project & change order recordkeeping
• AISC Audits

Maintains Safe Work Place Practices

• Corrects environment hazards
• Halts Unsafe Procedures
• Directs Periodic Equipment Maintenance

Experience, Skills, Education:

• 7-10 years in Structural Steel Fabrication
• progressive hand on experiences with machines, welding, fitting
• 3-5 years demonstrated cross & inter- department supervision & teambuilding
• has ability to teach/train/monitor/retrain
• Education
  - High School Grad
  - Associates etc. in relevant coursework
• Literate with Word, Excel, Outlook required
• Other helpful
  - AutoCAD, SDS2, Tekla, Advance, Bob Cad, -
• Purchase Order usage, Mill Cert controls
• Blueprint reading & interpreting fabrication/weld drawings
• Proficiency with fabrication equipment (CNC plasma, shears, rolls)
• Welding knowledge (MIG, Fluxcore, TIG, Subarc) & codes (AWS/ASME)
• Quality assurance & inspection (bolt/weld compliance)

Wages - Up to 80,000.00 Annually
