Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician supports a high-volume manufacturing facility that produces plastic sheets using large extrusion machines and injection-molded parts for the automotive and building trades industries. In this role, you work as part of the maintenance group and take responsibility for the repair, troubleshooting, and ongoing upkeep of industrial production machinery, including injection molding and extrusion equipment. You perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs to ensure continuous and safe operation of all production lines.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on industrial production machinery, including extrusion and injection molding equipment, to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Respond promptly to down machine calls, diagnose issues, and restore equipment to proper working condition.
- Independently troubleshoot and repair electrical components using appropriate tools such as a volt meter.
- Carry out mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on production machinery and related systems.
- Repair and rebuild hydraulic pumps, cylinders/rams, and lines to ensure reliable hydraulic system performance.
- Install, adjust, and maintain machine components and systems as needed to support production requirements.
- Apply planning and scheduling skills to organize maintenance tasks and coordinate work with production needs.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues on the production floor, including electric motors and hydraulic rams, using a systematic diagnostic approach.
- Support HVAC, freight-related equipment, and other facility systems as required to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status to team members and supervisors.
- At least 4 years of recent experience in machine repair within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with hydraulics, including repairing and rebuilding pumps, cylinders/rams, and hydraulic lines.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot electrical systems and components using a volt meter.
- Experience performing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on production machinery.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues with electric motors and hydraulic rams.
- Solid planning and scheduling skills to manage maintenance tasks effectively.
- Capability to perform installations and adjustments on industrial equipment and related systems.
- Comfort working on the production floor and interacting with operators and maintenance leadership during troubleshooting.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with injection molding machines is a strong plus.
- Experience in maintaining extrusion equipment is beneficial.
- Exposure to HVAC systems and freight-related equipment maintenance is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate clearly about technical issues and proposed solutions.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to take initiative in diagnosing complex equipment problems.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces plastic sheets and injection-molded parts for automotive and building trades, using large extrusion and injection molding machines. You work on the 3rd shift, typically from 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with an additional optional shift on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The environment is production-focused and highly scheduled, with an emphasis on consistent operations and clear maintenance routines.
You use tools and equipment such as volt meters and other diagnostic instruments while working on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and freight-related systems. Work is performed on the plant floor around running industrial machinery, requiring attention to safety procedures and appropriate industrial work attire.
This is a Permanent position based out of Flint, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $85000.00/yr. 401k match health insurance paid time off
