Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations and reports to the Plasma Center Manager.
About the RoleAs a Medical Support Specialist, you will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. You will work under guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, follow Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance, and provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How You Will Contribute- Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, conduct medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent (including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements).
- Current RN, NP, or PA license.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two or more years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits SummaryHourly wage range: $31.92 – $43.89.
