Job Summary

Insight is seeking a proactive, patient‑centric and empathetic Nurse Practitioner to support our Urgent Care clinic in Flint, MI as a contingent/PRN Nurse Practitioner. The role supports staff and patient caseload, ensuring coverage from 8 am to 8 pm.

Duties
  • Interview and examine patients to determine a diagnosis
  • Perform physical exams and patient observations
  • Consult with healthcare professionals and families
  • Order and administer diagnostic tests
  • Monitor and operate medical equipment
  • Diagnose health issues
  • Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms
  • Maintain patient records and provide documentation for insurance companies
  • Detect changes in patients’ health
  • Train patients and families to manage and prevent illness and injury
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Preferred experience within the field or related work environment
  • RN licensure in the state of employment or a compact party state, board certified by ANCC or AANP
  • APN authorization in the state of employment for family health practice by the Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Prescriptive authorization
  • Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required for practice
  • Knowledge of computer‑based data management programs, medical records, and point‑of‑care technology
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of disease prevention
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, stressful environment while maintaining positive energy
  • Willingness to participate in goal‑setting and educational activities for professional advancement
  • Compassionate patient care with coworkers, exhibiting patient care second to none
  • Enthusiasm and drive
