Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
  • 1+ year experience in a mother‑baby, postpartum, or labor and delivery setting preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathetic patient and family‑centred care
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns during the postpartum period, monitoring both patients for signs of complications
  • Administer medications as prescribed and perform routine assessments of both maternal and newborn vital signs
  • Provide emotional support and education to new mothers, focusing on safe, effective infant care, breastfeeding, and self‑care post‑delivery, while empowering them to care for themselves and their newborns
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and holistic care during and after hospital stay
  • Accurately document maternal and newborn assessments, interventions, and outcomes in line with hospital policies and procedures
