Position: Advanced Practice Provider - Inpatient (Part-Time)
Position Overview
Under physician supervision, the Advanced Practice Provider – Inpatient is responsible for the comprehensive medical management of assigned inpatients in the hospital setting. The mid‑level provider exercises prudent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and implementation of care and seeks appropriate collaboration as necessary. This part‑time role will be working inpatient every other weekend (four days on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday), ten days off, and every other holiday at Hurley and Genesys.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Holds current BLS card for Health Professionals.
- Credentialed per CHC policies and procedures.
- Certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Inpatient hospital experience preferred.
- Licensed in the State of Michigan.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Obtain comprehensive histories and physical examinations reflecting the acuity and presenting complaint of the patient, including daily rounding, admission, and discharges with comprehensive progress notes.Coordinate and deliver comprehensive medical care in collaboration with attending physicians, including writing orders and prescriptions for standard medications, ordering and interpreting laboratory and radiographic studies, and seeking consultation when needed. Manage daily changes in patient status that require immediate resolution.Communicate in a timely and effective manner with supervising physician(s) to ensure continuity of care, and maintain communication with interdisciplinary teams including office services, hospital support services, and other physician teams also caring for the patient. Act as a professional resource and respond to in‑house emergencies promptly.Serve as a patient advocate and provide patient education and/or referrals for optimal outcomes and continuity of care.Collaborate with others across team lines, demonstrating accountability as a team member.Perform other tasks, procedures, or duties within scope of practice as assigned.Other Duties
